The Sustainable Fertilizer Academy (SFA) has significantly expanded its impact in China by offering live-streamed classes in Mandarin, helping to advance knowledge in sustainable agriculture.
In partnership with Sino-Agri and its live-streaming platform, SFA classes have reached over 1.37 million agronomists across the country. Delivered in Mandarin, these sessions have made expert knowledge accessible at scale especially in remote and underserved areas.

Now in its fourth consecutive year, this collaboration stands as a flagship example of how digital education can be effectively scaled to support sustainable farming practices. The classes cover key topics such as nutrient use efficiency, fertilizer quality, and emissions reduction, helping to build capacity across China’s agricultural sector.

In 2026, the Spring Plowing livestream series broadcasted across five consecutive sessions from April 14th to 17th, reached 1.07 million viewers. Combined with the nearly 300,000 views generated by the inaugural CAU quarterly lecture in April, the collaboration has already surpassed 1.37 million views in 2025 alone, reflecting the growing appetite for accessible, science-based agricultural education among farmers and agronomists across China.

Expanding the Partnership: New Initiatives in 2026

Building on this strong foundation, IFA and Sino-Agri have launched two new initiatives in 2026 to further deepen the reach and impact of sustainable fertilizer education in China.
In collaboration with Sino-Agri and China Agricultural University (CAU), IFA has launched a quarterly guest lecture series bringing together leading international experts and China’s academic and agricultural community. Delivered in a hybrid format, though in-person attendance at CAU and livestreamed simultaneously, each session features a 60-minute lecture followed by a Q&A, targeting postgraduate students, researchers, agronomists, and agricultural professionals across the country. The inaugural lecture, delivered by IFA Chief Scientist Dr. Achim Dobermann on global fertilizer industry trends and sustainability challenges, took place in April 2025 and generated close to 300,000 views. Further lectures are planned throughout the year, covering topics such as novel fertilizer technologies and precision agriculture.
IFA has also partnered with Sino-Agri to produce a series of short expert videos for Douyin, China’s leading short-video platform, designed to bring accessible, science-based knowledge on sustainable fertilizer use directly to farmers, agronomists, and agricultural dealers. Based on a 20-topic content bank, the videos feature IFA experts and are edited and published by Sino-Agri for maximum reach and local relevance.
